Italian Shrimp Contest (2017)

Hi everybody,

the last shrimps contest in participated as judge was the Paris International Shrimp Contest (see also my little reportage)  unfortunately I  couldn’t participate as judge to other contest because of unavoidable work engagements.
By the way, the first contest of this year where I’ll be present is the first edition of the Italian Shrimp Contest, wich will be held in Aprila (LT) the 21th and the 22th January 2017.

The first Italian Shrimp Contest is organized by Vincenzo Spasiano (owner of  Aquarium Shrimp House) and some of his friends with the support of well known national and international companies.

After contest, proposal and reflections part 4

Today as you can see,  I found a few time to update criteria for banded  and solid Taiwan bee.
Basically from old criteria didn’t changed much, just points redistribution and density of color that won’t look only at white or blue (for example for a blue panda) but also at black, red and green.  Yes, i added hulk as well 🙂

Extreme (diamond) Taiwan bee are now been moved to solid Taiwan bee as they should be totally black or red whiteout white or blue bands on body and can be handled like red/blue bolts or snow white.

After contest, proposal and reflections part 2 (updated 19.10.2016)

!Updated parts are written in italic!

During each contest I noticed things that didn’t work properly with criteria so I tried to make them more effective and simple without loosing the objectivity of the judgment.

During the Paris International Shrimp Contest there were some modifications made by Yoann Petitjean and myself, some of them worked nicely other need to be adjusted, therefore I will take the old criteria used in European Shrimps Contest and improve them again.

Many asked about the criteria and how they work, well let’s have a closer look starting with the first two categories Red bee and black bee (old category 1-2-3-4).
